A unique six day immersion program in August for Girls ages 11 or older with four or more years classical ballet training (entering Advanced Youth Ballet or its equivalent) in Fall Term.
Get a head start on learning this unique, most identifiable and advanced skill of Ballet for girls—dancing on Pointe. This six-day immersion program is designed for focused and mature students eleven years or older and entering Advanced Youth Ballet in Fall 2017, where they will begin Pointe training. Students will gain knowledge and skills that will prepare them to be successful as they embark on the remarkable journey of learning to dance on their toes—dancing “en Pointe.”
This Workshop teaches about different types and brands of Pointe shoes, Pointe shoe selection, tying and placement of ribbons and elastics, Pointe shoe “break in” and preparation for wear, Pointe shoe fitting, and pre and post Pointe exercises to get ready and continue to correctly work on Pointe. Under the
expert guidance of trained professionals, student dancers will be custom fitted and assisted with the selection of their first pair of Pointe shoes, and receive personalized instruction in properly going up on their toes for the first time!
