Ballet Royale Summer Intensive Programs
Master teachers join our renowned faculty and local guest instructors to give professional instruction in a structured and focused setting. Ballet Royale's Summer Intensives are comprehensive day programs providing the finest professional instruction for all ages, for those students striving to reach his or her full potential.
Joining us again as our Special Guest Faculty this year are COURTNEY ELIZABETH STEWART (former soloist with San Fransisco Ballet) and DIERDRE CHAPMAN (former First Soloist with England's Royal Ballet).
Ballet Royale Minnesota conducts four separate Summer Intensive Programs,
each with a different focus (Note, the July and August programs
require an audition for upper levels):
1) June "Spring Into Summer" Featuring Progressing Ballet Technique. No Audition Required
2) June Male Dancer Summer Intensive Program. Invitation or Pre-approval Required
3) July Full Day Summer Intensive, variable length options. AUDITION REQUIRED for Upper Division (Completed minimum one year Pointe for girls; five or more years classical ballet training)
4) August Ballet Royale's unique Grand Prix Variations Workshop. AUDITION REQUIRED for Upper Division (Completed minimum one year Pointe for girls; five or more years classical ballet training)

1) “SPRING INTO SUMMER” FEATURING PROGRESSING BALLET TECHNIQUE:
JUNE 11 – 29, 2018
NO AUDITION REQUIRED. Ages 10 and older with three or more years classical ballet training through Professional. Level placements made on the first day of class.
Experience Ballet Royale’s groundbreaking training featuring Progressing Ballet Technique™ cross-training, the industry’s most advanced and cutting edge regimen specifically designed to improve ballet dancer’s core stability, weight placement, alignment and muscle memory.
For motivated dancers wanting to hone their technique and maximize improvement, this program will accelerate students’ progress, and is particularly crucial for those preparing to attend summer intensive programs. The Intensive features a daily regimen of Ballet Technique, Pointe, Men’s Class, and Ballet Royale's Progressing Ballet Technique conditioning regimen.
Unlike any other in Minnesota, this Intensive is a great way to kick off the Summer!

2) Male Dancer Summer Intensive Program:
June 11 – 15, 2018
Unique in Minnesota, this Ballet Royale week long Summer Ballet Intensive Program is for motivated, aspiring Male Dancers ages 10 through adult.
Designed by former Professional Ballet Dancer Rick Vogt, this program focuses on strength, power, technique, and performance. These classes provide a rare opportunity for men and boys to gain invaluable skills and insights beyond those presented in mixed classes. Students receive individualized attention and coaching from the state’s foremost male ballet teachers.
This innovative program incorporates Ballet Technique, Targeted Strength Training, and Classical Variations.
3) July Full Day Summer Intensive in Collaboration with Twin Cities Ballet:
JULY 9 – JULY 27, 2018 (Variable Length Options)
AUDITION REQUIRED for UPPER DIVISION (Completed minimum one year Pointe for girls; five or more years classical ballet training)
Students ages 8 and up (who have completed a minimum of one year classical ballet technique training) through Professionals
Attend an exciting and rigorous ballet-based dance program featuring members of Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota, Master and Guest teachers, and Ballet Royale’s renowned Faculty! Students recieve the finest professional instruction in a structured and focused setting, allowing each student to reach his or her full potential. New this year, for the first time this Intensive is in collaboration with professional dancers from Twin Cities Ballet, who bring a unique perspective, background, expertise and inspiration to the program.
Classes include Ballet Technique, Pointe, Preparation for Pointe, Modern, Jazz, Character, Variations, Repertoire, Men’s class, Progressing Ballet Technique, introduction to Russian Ballet Technique, Hip-Hop, Contact Improv, Pas de Deux, choreographic methods, and Injury Prevention. Train with some of TCB’s Company dancers and perform with them at the end of the program!
Enrollment in the Program is limited, in order to maintain the quality of the training. Class placements for those accepted into the Summer Intensive are made based on the order Registrations are received.

4) BALLET ROYALE GRAND PRIX VARIATIONS WORKSHOP:
AUGUST 6 – 17, 2018
AUDITION REQUIRED FOR UPPER DIVISION (Completed minimum one year Pointe for girls; five or more years classical ballet training)
Workshop for Intermediate (ages 10+) through Professionals.
Ballet Royale introduces a focused ballet and variations workshop specializing in preparing dancers for performing or competing in national ballet competitions. Following daily Classical Ballet Technique and Pointe or Men’s Class, dancers learn classic ballet variations and receive advanced personal coaching from the area’s foremost professional ballet teachers, including DIERDRE CHAPMAN (former First Soloist with England's Royal Ballet).
This Workshop benefits all dancers, whether preparing for a competition, an upcoming performance, or simply wanting to polish and improve their artistry, technique, and quality.
Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 2:00pm (Two Separate Levels)
Students will also have the opportunity to perform in an in-studio showcase performance at the end of the workshop.
