Modern Dance and Performance Jazz Dance

Ballet Royale believes that a key component of dancers' training is to expose them to complementary dance forms that augment their core curriculum.  Modern (Contemporary) Dance (Youth Ballet 3 and higher) and Jazz Dance (Advanced Youth Ballet and higher) round out and advance students' overall strength, training and experience.

Modern (Contemporary) Dance: We offer four levels of Modern Dance, beginner through Pre-Professional levels. The Modern curriculum draws from Horton, Graham, Taylor and Cunningham techniques with emphasis on correct placement, sense of movement and transitional steps.

Performance ("Musical Theater") Jazz Dance:  We offer three levels of Jazz Dance, beginner through Pre-Professional levels. The jazz curriculum is based on classic ballet-based Broadway style jazz dance technique, focusing on style, attitude, isolations, extensions, floor stretches, control and  rhythm. Performance Jazz builds on a strong ballet base, helping the dancers become more musical, flexible, and well rounded, featuring age appropriate costumes, music and movement.
